7 tips on how to extend the battery life of LAMAX WatchY4

Children's smartwatches are an all-day companion. And because they do their best—tracking location, enabling calls and SOS functions, and monitoring your child's safety—it's good to know how to care for the battery so that it lasts as long as possible.

Fortunately, it's not complicated. Just a few simple adjustments to the settings can significantly extend the battery life. The watch will easily last through several school days or a long weekend full of adventures.

1) Turn on automatic shutdown at night

🔹When your child is asleep, the watch does not need to be running at full capacity. We recommend setting the automatic shutdown to 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for example.

🔹 The battery will rest overnight and last significantly longer.

2) Restrict the watch during school time

🔹 During class, it is best to have the watch in school mode so that your child is not distracted. Set this mode to 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for example, or adjust the times for each day according to the schedule

🔹 This will prevent the watch from being unnecessarily active and save battery life.

3) Switch location to power-saving mode

🔹 Positioning consumes the most battery power. When you switch automatic location to power-saving mode, the watch will only send your location when requested in the app

🔹 Accuracy will remain the same, but battery life will be significantly extended.

4) Only use video calls when necessary

🔹 Video calls are great when you want to see that everything is okay. However, they are one of the most energy-intensive features

🔹 For everyday communication, calls or voice messages are better – they are faster and use less battery power.

5) Turn off heart rate measurement

🔹 The WatchY4 Plus model measures your heart rate automatically. If you don't need it, feel free to turn it off.

🔹 If you don't use this feature, feel free to turn it off to extend battery life

6) Use power-saving mode when the battery is low

🔹 When you turn on battery saving mode, the watch will conserve energy until you can recharge it.

🔹 Once the battery drops below 20%, it will automatically switch to minimalist mode. This will preserve the remaining battery life for as long as possible – it will still receive calls, but your child won't be able to quickly drain the battery through active use.

7) Is your battery still draining quickly? Check your router

🔹 Some modern routers with multi-band or single-band 5GHz performance may affect the watch's connection. If necessary, try turning off Wi-Fi in your watch settings completely and leaving data and navigation to mobile data from your SIM card. In certain cases, this may solve the last option for battery drain.

Few smart changes to the settings = much longer battery life

A properly set watch will last your child the longest and give you peace of mind and the assurance that they are always connected.
